Integration.team at Integrate 2022 in London
Written by Integration.team
Our team members Bart Scheurweghs (Integration Architect) and Yanick Boel (Junior Cloud Developer) went to the three-day conference ‘Integrate 2022’ in London. Since Bart has been attending these conferences for as long as we can remember, and Yanick went there for the first time, we asked them to make a recap of this edition!
Let’s see what they think…
Finally another real-life conference!
“The Integrate event is always something I look forward to. This worldwide Microsoft Integration event, organized by Kovai, is the place to be if you want to hear everything about the latest integration possibilities. It’s also the perfect environment to network!” – Bart
“For me, this was only the second conference I ever attended. I’ve only been to Techorama before (read our blog about Techorama here). If I had to compare, I must say that the Integrate conference was smaller which made it so much easier for me to network in between sessions. I did not only get the chance to meet colleagues from all over the world, I even got to chat with some of the speakers there.” – Yanick
London is calling
“I must say, the conference was (once again) worth the trip! We attended all three days. The nice thing is, that in these days, there’s something for everyone. The speakers from the Microsoft Product Group and the Global Integration Community all had some very interesting topics to discuss, but for me, the main goal was to network. (Re-)connecting with people from the international integration and Microsoft technology scene is super interesting to me.” – Bart
“This is the place to be to learn directly from the experts!”
“Since I’m fairly new to the world of integration, this conference was very interesting content-wise because many different integration technologies and services were reviewed. I picked out some sessions that discussed technologies that I’m currently working with. This was the perfect opportunity for me to learn about Logic Apps, Service Bus and Event Grid straight from the experts.” – Yanick
No groundbreaking news, but many updates and eye-openers
“I must admit, even though I was very pleased to finally get back to a ‘real life’ conference, there wasn’t really anything ‘ground-breaking’ announced this year. This year the Microsoft team and MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) focused more on giving us some interesting updates and there was the overall importance of security that a lot of the speakers discussed.
Because I’ve been going to this conference for many years (I lost count), I know which experts have a talk I don’t want to miss. The ones that stood out to me were Toon Vanhoutte and Nino Crudele. Nino’s presentation is always very strong in content, but I especially like the way he presents things. Nino is an ethical hacker and just like many other speakers, he focused on the security aspect. He gave us a little more insight about what hackers can do and what he has already done as a hacker himself.” – Bart
“He just hacked the computer of his colleague during a live demo!”
“That session of Nino really stood out to me too! He gave a live demonstration where he showed us how he could just get access to the computer of his colleague. Luckily he also gave us some tips on how we can avoid this. Besides that presentation, I was also intrigued by demonstrations of the Power Platform. This platform focuses on ‘low code’ so it tries to create solutions by using as little code as possible. And then there was also Toon Vanhoutte who gave very useful tips about API Management that I can use in my daily job.” – Yanick
So, we’ll see you again at Integrate 2023?
“Well if it depends on me, I’ll absolutely go to Integrate again next year! At Integration.team we’re all free to attend conferences we find interesting. Normally, if one of our team members wants to go to a conference, they just ask the management. But in my case, everybody knows I’ll go to the Integrate conference so they just order my ticket automatically.” – Bart
“I really loved going to a conference that was focussed on the sector I work in! The fact that we could also explore some of Londen in our spare time was a bonus for me!” – Yanick
